Dr. Edward C. Conley is a vision group leader in the global Continua Health Alliance and has acted as a peer reviewer for NHS Wales’ Informing Healthcare IT Programme. He was responsible for business requirements analysis and vision setting on the DTI project Healthcare@Home. He has held senior scientific and programme management roles in both industry and academia, spending c.20 years in basic medical research (cancer, cardiology, neurology and respiratory medicine). He has written three international best-selling reference books on ion channels and has won a Wellcome Trust Showcase Award for Innovative Research.
Research interests
Ed's current research is concerned with novel informatics technologies for longitudinal outcome risk analysis, healthcare domain complexity modelling and patient privacy / data governance - encapsulated in a next-generation 'disease early detection and prevention' ICT platform design. Ed is the Co-Principal Investigator, with Dr Ian Taylor, for the Wellcome Trust Sintero Server project
